About Relay
Why we built this
Construction is one of the largest industries in the world, and one of the least well-served by software. Every year, an estimated $1.6 trillion is lost globally to projects that miss their schedule or budget. In the U.S., only 22% of construction projects finish on time. The culprit, more often than not, isn’t the work itself — it’s the coordination around the work.
General contractors juggle texts and voicemails from a dozen subs. Project managers chase foremen for status. Foremen show up to a site not knowing whether the trade before them finished. The schedule lives in someone’s head, or in a Gantt PDF that’s a week out of date. By the time a delay reaches the right person, the domino has already fallen.
Relay exists to fix that — not with a 200-feature enterprise platform, but with a focused, honest tool that does one thing well: keeps every contractor on a job looking at the same schedule, in real time.
How we’re different
- Built for the chain of command. Most tools treat everyone the same. Relay knows that a GC, a PM, and a foreman have different jobs and different information needs — and gives each one exactly what they need, nothing more.
- Subs are free, forever. Construction software that charges per seat punishes the contractor for inviting their crew. Relay flips it: foremen and subs use Relay free on every plan. Only the contractor managing the schedule pays.
- No predecessor wiring. Big scheduling tools demand you map every dependency by hand. Relay’s cascade engine figures out implied successors from start dates — so a one-day slip updates every downstream activity automatically, the moment you approve it.
- Honest pricing. $19.99/mo for a single project (early adopter), $99.99 for ten, $149.99 for unlimited. No hidden seat fees, no mandatory annual contracts, cancel anytime from Stripe.
Our mission
Construction professionals deserve software that respects the realities of the jobsite — weather delays, material shortages, last-minute crew changes, the works. We’re building Relay so the next time the plan moves, the right people know about it in real time, the cascade math is done for them, and they get back to building.
Who’s behind Relay
Relay is a Utah-based LLC. We’re a small team that combines construction experience with software craft — every feature ships because someone in a hard hat asked for it, not because a roadmap said so. We answer support emails ourselves.
If you want to talk to us, please drop us a line — sales, support, feedback, or just to say what’s broken on a jobsite. We listen.
